For more than a decade, we’ve honed our skills on our own renovation and building projects — re-imagining layouts, creating additions, overseeing construction, and transforming homes from the inside and out. That work shaped both our design style and the way we approach projects: thoughtfully, holistically, and with a deep understanding of how people actually live — and what really works.
Today, we take on a small number of full-service design clients each year, guiding projects from early planning and layouts through finish selections and/or furnishings, and handling the many detailed decisions that take the stress out of major projects like these — while creating homes that feel intentional and cohesive. By limiting our projects, we’re able to give each client focused attention from start to finish.
Our Approach
We’re known for bringing clarity and creativity to complex projects. Many of our clients come to us after speaking with other designers or architects and realizing they don’t just want someone to just draft up what they’ve stated — they want real, experienced feedback and new ideas they wouldn’t come up with on their own. Others seek us out when the realize the depth and complexity of selections and decisions involved beyond architectural plans alone.
Our work starts by listening to understand how you live, what you need, what isn’t working, and the actual problems you’re trying to solve — not simply echoing the solution you may think you need.
Because we’ve spent more than a decade designing and renovating homes, we look at existing structures, hypothetical floor plans, constraints, budgets, and scope with a practical, experienced eye. We’re comfortable questioning assumptions, spotting concerns before they become expensive mistakes, and finding smart, thoughtful ways to solve real problems — whether that means rethinking a floor plan before adding square footage, or refining a design so it fits both the house and the investment being made.
This approach is the same whether you’re meeting with us for a $500 design consultation or engaging us for a five-figure design service. Every client receives the same level of care, attention, and honest guidance — rooted in experience, not ego, and focused on creating a home that truly fits the people who live there.
Our Projects
We work across a wide range of architectural styles and aesthetics — from modern new builds to character-rich renovations — always letting the home, the client, and the context lead the design. Below are a few recent projects that show the variety of work we do. You can view more on our Portfolio page.
Our Clientele
Most of our full-service clients are undertaking one or more of the following:
a multi-six figure renovation or addition
a mid five-figure (or higher) furnishing or decorating project
a high-six figure to seven-figure new build
Full-service design is an investment that usually makes the most sense for projects within these ranges. If you’re curious whether it’s a fit for you — or have no idea what your budget even is, our design consultation service is a great place to start and remains an excellent option for homeowners of all budgets who are seeking professional direction on projects of any scale.
“Nicole was a dream to work with from our initial consult all the way through the design process. She thrives in her ability to see beauty in older homes, rearranging spaces on the fly to make them more accessible and livable. My wife and I had little to no direction in what we wanted--more of a vague concept. Nicole took what little we could provide and gave us a comprehensive design plan for our whole house. Each room felt distinct, but connected. She did an amazing job using her experience to show us about what really matters in a home and gave us cost effective options along the way to fit our budget. Could not recommend her more.” — David K., Full-Service Design Client
Our Process
Every full-service design begins with our 2-hour design consultation. This is a paid working session — not a sales pitch — focused on ideas, clarity, real-world budgets, and problem-solving for your space, whether or not we end up furthering our design work together. Most people come to us feeling overwhelmed by decisions and options and unsure how to begin — and that’s exactly what the consultation is for.
If there’s alignment around scope, timing, and budget, we’ll prepare a custom design proposal tailored to your project. Because every project is unique, we don’t provide ballpark design estimates by email. When taking on new clients, we’re typically booked a few months out for full-service design. Consultations, however, are usually available within a couple of weeks.
Our minimum design fees begin at $5,000. Full scopes of work, timelines, and deliverables are outlined within custom design proposals.
Full-service projects are available for local, in-person clients at this time.
